This page is maintained by GoLife to answer common questions about how GoLife.green handles your data. It is not legal advice or an independent certification.

1. What we collect

  • Account: email, display name, and the audiences you choose to track for (yourself, partner, kids, pets).
  • Scans & product activity: photos you upload, extracted ingredient text, the market (US/EU) you selected, and the products you save or track.
  • Billing metadata: subscription status and customer ID from Stripe. We don't see or store full card numbers.
  • Basic technical data: standard server logs needed to run the service securely.

2. How we use it

  • Provide ratings personalized to the audiences you selected.
  • Improve our product database and rating methodology.
  • Operate your subscription and send transactional emails (receipts, account notices).
  • Detect abuse, secure accounts, and meet legal obligations.

We don't sell your personal data, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.

3. Who we share data with

We share the minimum data needed with service providers acting on our behalf:

  • Stripe — payments and subscription management.
  • Supabase — hosting, authentication, database.
  • AI providers used to extract and analyze ingredient lists from your scans.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the service.

4. Storage and retention

Your data is kept while your account is active. When you delete your account from the Account page, your profile, scans, tracked items, and saved settings are removed from our active systems. Backups and logs that contain residual data are rotated out within 30 days.

Anonymized, aggregated data (for example, how often a product is scanned) may be retained to maintain the public product database.

5. Your rights

You can:

  • Access and update your profile and audiences from the Account page.
  • Change your password from the Account page.
  • Cancel your subscription from the in-app billing portal.
  • Delete your account from the Account page.

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information we hold, to request deletion, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We don't sell or share personal information in this sense.

6. Children

GoLife.green is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. The "kids" audience setting is for parents and caregivers tracking products used on their own children.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Access to your private data is gated by authentication and row-level database policies so that other users can't read it. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password.
